I think it's ridiculous to even think to shut down wards in Ealing hospital, we need healthcare services as close as we can get it, people need to wake up and smell the coffee, what is the point of our taxes when vital services are being more difficult to access.

My Wife & I cannot really believe Ealing hospital is to be closed and we are to be serviced by Northwick Park hospital - surely a simpleton can appreciate the that the shear numbers of people being helped by Ealing, Southall, Hounslow etc can never be accommodated in Northwick park.
Anything we can do to help the campaign let us know - has a government petition of the Health Secretary been started yet.
Thanks

There's no business case. It was proving expensive and there was very little evidence that it would achieve any of the benefits claimed for it.

Dear Steve,
When I was a student I used to be inspired by the concept of "Human right", however now days the same rights have been invoked to protect the criminals such as the Iraqi Kurd who left 12 year girl to die after hit and run. For him, judge felt that deporting him back to Iraq would breach his right to a private and family life with his children. We would like to know what the MP's and your self will do so that the human rights are not abused by the criminals and thugs of this society.

Apparently there is plan to cut more then 10,000 police officers in England and Wales. As a new resident in Northolt/Greenford area I am must worried about burglary and theft. I would like to know if police cut will affect my area too, and if so what will you do to keep our area safe?

Although the world of communication is changing & we must adapt, until we can resolve the problem of 1 person being able to submit thousands of votes for or against a certain subject it's not possible to really take these campaigns at face value.

Steve,

A Premier League rant if ever I read one. I do appreciate your point though.

A counter argument is that 38 Degrees and Avaaz exist because they meet a need. That need is for busy people to register a protest in a world in which often at local, regional and national level they feel powerless and disenfranchised.

Another argument is that 38 Degrees is not just an email 'engine' but it organises and attends protest marches. I know this as friends of mine have joined these marches.

And let's face it you and your fellow MPs don't have time to meet 100s of petitionerss face to face each month to debate individually the proposed wrecking of the NHS; the folly of HS2; or even the evilness of the News of The World.

Finally 38 Degrees actively solicites ideas from its users about what campaigns it should run next.

I do like the phrase 'premasticated pap' though.

All the best,

Eric
